Chobani’s Hamdi Ulukaya
In a speech that brought the audience to their feet, Hamdi Ulukaya shares the business and life lessons he learned on his journey from arriving in New York City as an immigrant from Turkey to CEO of the most influential yogurt brand in the world.
Hamdi Ulukaya is an immigrant from Turkey who came to the USA with nothing. However within 10 years, he has been running a Yogurt company worth billions. He just gave 10% of the company to his employees. It is worth about 100,000’s of dollars for each employee in addition to the fact that he also gave $700m to Syrian refugees.
Ulukaya has lot of different hats including the owner, founder, Chairman, and CEO of Chobani. This is one of the most successful yogurt business in America and the number one selling strained yogurt brand in the United States. Lot of consumer might recognize the name, but most of them may not know the story of how it began. And it is a good lesson to learn from his speech.
